Hi again, beauties! It’s been two years since my last body care favorites post…how in the world did that happen?! Since 2014, I’ve discovered a ton of new products that I can’t get enough of. Some are high end, some are affordable, but I promise they are all worth the buy!
A GIRLS GOTTA SPA! ENERGIZING CITRUS BODY WASH
First, let’s start with body wash. I don’t normally use body wash, since it tends to try out my skin, but this one from A Girl’s Gotta Spa! definitely breaks the mold. It has a delicious orange scent (perfect for sleepy mornings!), it produces a nice thick lather, and it never leaves my skin dry or itchy. The founder is a fellow blogger, so be sure to check out her site and her cruelty free body products!
SHAVEWORKS PEARL SOUFFLÉ SHAVE CREAM
Finding the right shave cream can be tricky when you have dry skin, but this luxurious shave soufflé is formualted to hydrate, nourish, and sooth. It contains glycolic acid to reduce in grown hairs, capislow to slow down hair growth, and mediacalm complex for moisturization.
The consistency is silky, so it’s easy to apply, and it never leaves behind a greasy residue. I can’t say I’ve seen a huge difference in razor burn around my bikini area, but it leaves my legs (my driest area) really soft and hydrated, so for that I will continue to buy!
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL EGG MOUSSE BODY OIL
One of my favorite discoveries, is this egg mouse body oil. It sounds strange, but trust me it’s really good! It comes out like a foam, and transforms into a silky oil that absorbs instantly. It’s not greasy, or sticky, and it leaves my skin so incredibly soft. It has a stunning scent (similar a Dior perfume) that lingers, and provides outstanding hydration. My only dislike, is this tends to itch my legs if I use it right after shaving. I think it’s probably the fragrance, so I make sure to use this mostly on my upper body.
HUMAN + KIND BODY SOUFFLÉ
Another soufflé! This body cream from Human + Kind is hands down the best I’ve ever tried – even better than my previous HG cream from First Aid Beauty. It features a light cucumber scent, and leaves my skin insanely hydrated. The consistency is perfect, not too thick, and not too thin. It blends effortlessly, and leaves skin feeling like velvet. There’s no greasy feel or waxy residue…it’s perfection!
JOSIE MARAN ARGAN SUGAR BALM BODY SCRUB
I’m pretty much a scrub addict. I’ve got three in my shower right now, including this one from Josie Maran. It features 100% pure argan oil and sugar crystals. The formula is thick, hydrating, and not overly scratchy. It comes housed in a glass jar, and comes with an adorable wooden spoon. I’ve never actually used the spoon, but it’s a cute touch. If you’re someone who loves large chunky scrubbing granules, you won’t like this. But, if you want a gentle everyday scrub, this is a great choice (and perfect for prepping skin for shaving).
PACIFICA SUGAR FLOWERED SHAVE WHIP
I have a love/hate relationship with this product, but I thought I’d mention it since there are things I like about it. The positives: it smells amazing (like gardenia), hydrates my skin, is easy to apply, and protects my legs against nicks and cuts. The one down side? it has the consistency of melted ice cream. If it were in an aerosol can, it would actually be a “whip,” but since it’s in a tube…it’s runny.
The first time I used this, I was not at all prepared for the consistency, so a ton of it poured out at once. Now that I know it’s like that, I use it very carefully, but it’s definitely the one negative with this product. It makes my legs really smooth, but it’s a little finicky to work with.
HEMPZ SWEET PINEAPPLE & HONEY MELON BATH & BODY OIL
This last item it pretty much the greatest smelling oil on earth. The fragrance is quite powerful, so it’s definitely not for those with sensitive noses. It reminds me of fruit snacks, it’s sweet, fruity, and surprisingly not headache inducing. Unlike the Too Cool body oil, this one is quite greasy, so it’s best for use before bed. It’s formulated with 100% hemp seed oil, and leaves my skin extra smooth. Is it a replacement for my all time fav L’Occitane almond shower oil? No, but it’s a less pricey alternative for those looking for a body oil.
