Earlier this year, Pixi released four blogger collabs, featuring products for the eyes, cheeks, lips, and skin. I was lucky enough to receive the entire collection, and have been busy testing everything, so I can tell you what’s worth it (and what’s not). So far, I’m most impressed about the Pixi + ASPYNOVARD Glow-y Powders. These babies are stunning!
Retailing for $16 (0.36 oz) at Target and pixibeauty.com, this collection consists of three easy-to-wear highlighting shades. These natural mineral powders are formualted to hydrate and reflect light, for a luminous glow-y effect. They were created for all skin tones, and are not tested on animals.
Before I get into the highlighters, I want to quickly chat about the influencer behind this collab. Aspyn Ovard, is a lifestyle blogger (and YouTuber) over at aspynovard.com. Admittedly, I hadn’t heard of her before this collab, but I’ve since checked out her blog, and it’s fantastic! She talks about travel, fashion, and beauty – and she’s just as stunning as the powders she created!
The texture of these powders reminds me a lot of BECCA and Jouer. They are velvety smooth, and feature incredible color payoff. However, unlike those higher end brands, these aren’t as fragile. You can swatch them, without any crumbling, and I think they’d hold up well while traveling. Each shade also features tiny micro shimmers, which seem to disappear once applied to the cheeks.
The lightest of the highlighters, is London Lustre. This soft opal is perfect for pale skinned beauties. It applies like a dream, and leaves behind the most stunning lit from within glow.
Santorini Sunset is a gorgeous peach, with soft golden undertones. In the pan it looks better suited for medium to dark skin, but on the cheeks it’s actually quite wearable for fair skin as well. I suggest applying it in light layers though, because this baby is pigmented!
This last shade is actually a blush, but it’s so luminous, it can double as highlight. Like Santorini Sunset, in the pan it looks darker than it appears once applied. On my light skin, I actually have to build it up quite a bit for it to show, so don’t let looks fool you. This is really wearable, and easy to work with!
Also included in the Aspyn Ovard collection, is this cute box of eye products, appropriately named Eye Accents ($16). It features the Pixi Lower Lash Mascara, and a clear brow gel. The lower lash mascara is one of my fav Pixi products! It doesn’t flake, smudge, or irritate my sensitive eyes, and the teeny tiny wand easily coats every lash.
On the cheeks, these highlighters are luminous and glowy. They aren’t over the top intense, or in your face bright, like a lot of others currently on the market. Instead, they are subtle, almost dewy, I highly suggest all three!
What do you think of the Pixi + ASPYNOVARD collection? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
