If you’re a regular around here, then you know I’m a huge fan of Beauty Junkees. Their brushes are incredible, the contour kit is superb, and just recently they added shadows to their line up. Everything they offer is affordable, but still high quality, and these new shadows are no exception!
Retailing individually for $6, these ultra rich shadows come in 34 shades, ranging from creamy beige to bright orange. They are also available in quads for $19.97 (nine sets to choose from), or in a 28-pan palette for $119. They are free of parabens and gluten, are not tested on animals, and are made in the USA.
There are a ton of shades to go through, so I won’t be going into detail about each and every one. Thankfully, the quality and performance was consistent across the board, so there’s not much varying info to give anyway. Here’s what Beauty Junkees has to say:
Matte shades are creamy smooth, shimmery shades are sexy and soft. Buildable, blendable color with awesome pigmentation for all day staying power; triple milled pressed eyeshadow can be used wet or dry. Apply sheer or full coverage; get a smooth consistent finish” Beauty Junkees (more info here.)
BROW BONE/BLENDING SHADES
There are seven creamy mattes that work perfect for blending, or highlighting the brow bone. The texture of each shade is smooth, the color payoff is amazing, and they aren’t dry or chalky. The collection offers something for everyone, and ranges from a stark white, to golden beige.
SOFT NEUTRALS/TRANSITION SHADES
Transition shades are super important for eye looks. They help blend everything together, and prevent harsh lines. It can be tough finding that perfect shade, but Beauty Junkees has got you covered! Each shade in this row is easy to work with, and blends effortlessly on the lids. My fav is Tiki Shed, it’s been my go-to for weeks!
PURPLES & BERRIES
Purple shadows are notoriously dry and patchy, but these babies are smooth and so pigmented! Just a tiny dab into the product is all it takes for an opaque finish. A great pairing is Love Affair (on the lids), and Tuscan Rose (in the crease). It’s matte, romantic, and perfect for day or night!
POPS OF COLOR
What’s an eye look, without a little pop of color?! 😉 Tiger has been a surprise hit for me, it looks scary in the pan, but it’s incredibly wearable and easy to apply. Penny Lover is the perfect copper, and Ripe Olive is gorgeous on the lids. You can apply them damp, for an extra boost of color, or dry for a subtle effect.
Lastly, we’ve got six shades that wear beautifully all over the lids. These guys didn’t fit in the palette pictured above, so I included a photo of them here. The lighter ones are great for a barely there effect, while Steel Wool and Citrus are deeper, but not overly intense.
Upon swatching, I found that some of the mattes have a drier texture than the metallics, but that didn’t affect their performance on the lids. Additionally, most of the metallics kick up a bit of powder, but are relatively mess-free when applied (so long as you tap off the excess).
SWATCHES WITH SHADE NAMES
To purchase these shadows, and their amazing brushes, check out the Beauty Junkees site. The quads offer easy color combos, perfect for those who aren’t sure which shades to pair together. I highly suggest!
