I talk a lot about makeup around here, but truth be told real beauty starts from within. Often times we’re so busy with school runs, work, and laundry, that we forget to take care of ourselves. Today, I’m going to show you how I go from drab to fab with just a few makeup products, and how I keep my body healthy and hydrated with smartwater®!
DAILY BEAUTY ROUTINE
First things first, I always start my day by drinking water. As most of you know, I’m currently nursing my 12 month old, which means mama is always thirsty. I keep a bottle of smartwater on my night stand, on my makeup table, in the diaper bag, the list goes on and on. The pure and crisp taste has always been my go-to. Thanks to the vapor distilled technology, it’s like drinking water from the clouds. Plus, it also contains electrolytes, for even more added taste!
STEP 1: MOISTURIZE & APPLY SPF
Once I’m hydrated, I move on to skin care. First, I apply an all natural SPF, because no one wants premature wrinkles. Next, I add an extra boost of moisture by applying a dime size amount of a nourishing face cream. Then, it’s time to move on to makeup!
STEP 2: QUICK NATURAL EYE
Most of the time, I’m rocking a quick and easy neutral eye. I like to choose shades that are simple and classic, like soft browns and mid-tone mauves. Today, I applied a champagne shade to my lids, and lightened up the crease with a warm brown. I applied a soft mauve to the outer corner, along with a darker shimmery mauve. This look is easy to wear, perfect for work or home, and takes under 10 minutes to apply!
STEP 3: CONCEALER & FOUNDATION
For a pulled together look that doesn’t take much time, I always reach for tinted moisturizers. They provide medium, but natural, coverage and you don’t have to worry about looking cakey or overdone. For this look, I applied a light layer of tinted moisturizer, and blended it out with a large synthetic face brush. I concealed my under eye darkness and cheek redness, then set it all with a light powder.
It’s important to drink half your body weight in ounces of water, so be sure to take time out of your schedule to hydrate. That bottle of smartwater I keep on my makeup table? I always make sure to reach for it, even if that means setting timers to ensure I’m drinking enough. After all, our hair, skin, and nails are directly affected by our water intake, so be sure to drink up as often as you can!
STEP 4: LIPSTICK
Like always, I reached for a nude pink lipstick to compliment this look. It’s easy to wear, and touch-ups are a breeze!
STEP 5: BRONZER & BLUSH
To finish the look, I applied a bit of bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks, and a touch of soft pink blush. I added a champagne highlighter, and the look was complete!
THE FINISHED LOOK
STEP 5: RUN TO TARGET FOR MORE SMARTWATER!
You can conveniently find smartwater at your local Target, so be sure to pick up the 0.5L six pack next time you’re running errands. You can find them in the grocery section, near the snacks.
What tips do you have to stay hydrated? I’d love to know!
