I love me a good tinted moisturizer. In the past, I’ve adored full coverage options from Peter Thomas Roth and IT Cosmetics. But, recently I discovered the Rodial Skin Tints, and I couldn’t be happier!
Retailing for $45 (1.35 fl oz), these medium coverage tints are formualted with amino-peptides, to brighten and enhance your complexion. It also contains SPF, in the form of titanium dioxide, so you don’t have to worry about hazardous sunscreen chemicals.
RODIAL SKIN TINT + SPF 20 (HAMPTONS, ST. BARTS & RIO)
There are four shades to choose from, which includes Light (Carpi), Light/Medium (Hamptons), Medium (St. Barts), and Dark (Rio). Sadly, the darkest shade isn’t really that dark. I’m not sure why brands exclude so many skin tones with limited ranges like this, but here’s hoping they expand in the future.
Aside from the extremely limited shades, I really adore the finish and formula. They are creamy, easy to blend, and the coverage is medium to full. It leaves behind a satin finish, which works perfect on my dry skin. However, I want to warn you oily skin babes, this can look shiny on hot humid days. I don’t normally have issues with it, but after a mid-day gardening session, my face was dewwwyyyyy. If you already struggle with oiliness, I’d make sure to set this with a finishing powder.
BEFORE & AFTER
A big reason I gravitate toward tinted moisturizers, is because they offer the look of a foundation, without the heavy feel. As you can see, the Skin Tint + covered my rosacea and evened out my skin tone, without appearing cakey. It feels weightless, and doesn’t require much fuss throughout the day (just don’t do yard work in the blazing sun).

*UPDATE: I just learned Rodial added a 5th shade, Miami, which is darker than Rio. You can find it online at Bloomingdales.
I’ve been wearing this non-stop for over two months, and it has never caused my sensitive skin to break out. If you’re in the market for a lightweight, medium to full coverage tinted moisturizer, I highly suggest the Rodial Skin Tints!
