One of my goals this year, was to update old blog posts with new photos. I started Collective Beauty over 6 years ago, when cameras and lighting weren’t really important. Most of my throwback posts are pretty cringe worthy, yet still remain my highest viewed. So, I figured it’s time to revamp them with new and improved pics. Today’s remodel, is my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush review!
Retailing for $29 (0.2 oz), these long wearing solar baked blushes promise to stay on for 12-hours. There are 15 shades to choose from, with the majority leaning nude or pink. In fact, nearly half of them have the word “nude” in the name. For that reason, I find this blush line incredibly easy to wear, and great for everyday use or beginners.
Each blush comes packaged in a sleek plastic compact, with a convenient hole on the bottom for easy depotting. Just pop a pin into it, and the pan removes easily for on-the-go palette storage.
I’ve tested the Amazonian Clay blushes in super high humidity (both in FL and NC), and each time they wore all day without much fading. They don’t turn patchy, and at the end of a 10+ hour day, there’s definitely still blush on my cheeks. With that said, my skin is dry, so oily babes might see a little less wear time.
These blushes are also known for their pigmentation, a tiny bit goes a long way. They are easy to over-do, so use a light hand, and tap off the excess!
PEACEFUL & EXPOSED
Peaceful is one of my all time favorite blushes, EVER! It’s a peachy pink that’s easy to wear, and pairs so well with almost any bronzer. It warms up the face beautifully, and never looks streaky. Although it contains finely milled shimmer, they aren’t obvious once on the cheeks.
Believe it or not, I’m not that big on Exposed. It’s one of Tarte’s most popular shades, but on me it leans a bit too red (instead of nude). In the pan, it’s a stunning mid-tone nude, just the kind of shade I gravitate toward. I’m sad it doesn’t work on me, but so many love it! The finish is matte, and the formula is incredible.
FLUSH & CELEBRATED
I don’t typically reach for bright pinks, but Flushed is stunning! If you’re looking for a babydoll pink cheek, this baby is definitely for you. It’s matte, but not chalky or dry, and like the others it’s very pigmented – so you can easily build a bright cheek!
Celebrated is another gorgeous peachy nude that wears really nice with bronzer. It’s a tad lighter than Peaceful, and doesn’t have tiny shimmers, but on the cheeks they are very similar. This shade is also easier to apply, as the pigmentation is a bit softer than the others (as seen below). I’m a sucker for peach blushes, so this shade was a must have!
