Long time, no see! If you follow me on social media, then you know I’m dealing with a broken laptop at the moment, so blogging has been a little tough. But, today I’m back to talk about the stunningly gorgeous (and very wearable) In the Nude Collection from Makeup Geek!
The collection consists of an eyeshadow palette, 2 bronzers, 1 highlighter, and 2 lip shades. Each product is perfect for those who love to rock neutrals, but don’t worry there’s nothing boring these shades.
IN THE NUDE EYESHADOW PALETE $50
If you’re new to Makeup Geek, the first product I suggest trying are the eyeshadows. They are creamy, easy to blend, and super pigmented. This palette contains 4 new matte shades, and five of their most popular shadows ranging in finish from matte, to foiled. It’s predominately a warm palette, so if you’re a fan of cooler shades, I’d pass on this.
But, if warm tones are your jam, you will adore this! It’s got everything needed for day-to-night looks, including a matte brow bone shade, foiled lid shades, and deep crease shades. The only thing missing to really amp up the drama, is a matte black, but that can easily be supplemented from almost any other palette.
In terms of the formula, these do not disappoint. The mattes are easy to blend, and never patchy or dry, while the foiled and shimmers are pigmented, and a joy to apply. TIP: Apply the foiled shadows with a wet brush, for more intense color payoff!
MAKEUP GEEK TAWNY BRONZER $22
This baby is like a tropical vacation in a compact! It’s warm, without being muddy or orange, and the formula blends effortlessly. I have a ton of bronzers in my collection, but this has become an instant favorite, and is all I’ve worn for weeks!
The formula combines silky mineral pigments, with a kiss of pearl powder, giving it a unique luster. The shade itself, is a mid-tone warm bronze with slightly red undertones, so it looks incredibly natural on the cheeks, and can be worn all over for a sunkissed glow. I apply it to my cheeks, temples, nose, and neck.
MAKEUP GEEK DAYBREAK HIGHLIGHTER $20
Another instant favorite in this collection, has been the highlighter in Daybreak. It’s a peachy luminous glow, that leaves a serious luster to the cheeks. The formula is finely milled, and the glow is silky smooth, not chunky or glittery.
Although the texture isn’t overly creamy or smooth, the pigmentation is still easily buildable. You can achieve a barely there look with just one or two swipes, or you can layer it for an intense pop of glow.
MAKEUP GEEK PLUSH MATTE & PLUSH CREME LIPSTICK $12/$14
If you decide to purchase the palette in a bundle, you’ll receive two lip products. A Plush Matte Lipstick in Beach Bunny, and a Plush Creme Lipstick in Jetsetter. The formula of the Plush Creme is described as a mixture between a cream and a mousse, that’s meant to sit on top of the lips for a soft plush feel. It’s opaque in just one swipe, and doesn’t make my lips feel dry.
The Plush Matte Lipstick is also described as a mousse cream hybrid, only with a matte finish. Again, the formula is comfortable, and the pigmentation is easy to build.
MAKEUP GEEK IN THE NUDE COLLECTION
There are a ton of neutral eyeshadow palettes out there, but what set’s this one apart, is the quality of the shadows. The shimmers and foiled’s are the absolute best for packing color onto the lids, and the mattes blend like a dream. Each shade is wearable, and appropriate for day looks. You can’t go wrong with the face powders, or lipsticks either, so be sure to jump on these products!
