Urban Decay has done it AGAIN! The new Born to Run collection is everything a makeup lover could ask for. It’s got creamy shadows, stunning shades, and adorable packaging. I’ve got swatches of everything, so scroll on down for some makeup goodness!
URBAN DECAY BORN TO RUN
This travel themed collection includes a 21-pan eyeshadow palette, three lipsticks, three liners, and a travel size of their cult favorite All Nighter setting spray. Each product features fun globe trotting photos, meant to inspire you on your next trip. Instead of packing heavy, travel light with just this collection . Your adventure awaits!
BORN TO RUN EYESHADOW PALETTE ($49)
This palette is all you need for your summer travels! It’s got a great range of wearable (and bold) shades from jewel tones, to neutrals. There are matte transition shades (for above the crease), satin lid shades, and a few fun brights to add in a pop of color.
The formula is creamy, pigmented, and super easy to work with. The mattes aren’t patchy, and they apply with very little effort. The satins are luminous, but can be vamped up with a dampened brush. They last all day, and I have zero issues with creasing or fading. You can create natural looks (perfect for the office, or day trips), or bright fun looks for a night out. It’s seriously a palette for all occasions.
24/7 GLIDE ON EYE PENCIL ($21/EACH)
One of my all time favorite eyeliner formulas! I’ve been a devout fan of the 24/7 liners for over ten years. They have incredible pigmentation, glide on without tugging, and seriously last all day. You can smudge them out for a smokey look, or apply them precisely for a sharper line.
The shades included in this collection are jewel toned, and great for use all year round. The green is beautiful on the lower lash line, and the golds work well on the upper lash line. As you can see from the swatch above, Lucky and Double Life are nearly identical. In person there’s more of a difference, but unless you have a large budget I’d stick to getting just one.
Although these pencils are pricey, they do last a while. The formula is smooth and doesn’t tug, and despite their soft texture they don’t have to be sharpened after each use.
BORN TO RUN VICE LIPSTICKS ($18)
These limited edition lipsticks come in two finishes, matte and metallized. Comfort is a matte mauve, Marfa is a dark berry with mircoshimmer (even though it’s “matte”), and Ready? is a bright rose. Formula wise, these aren’t my favorite. They are packed with pigment, but they tend to drag during application and they aren’t transfer proof.
As far as mattes go, I never reach for them no matter what brand. My lips are dry, so they tend to enhance my fine lines and chappedness – new word? 😉 The metallized finish is pretty, but it’s got lots of noticeable shimmer. I’m much more of a glossy pink nude gal. But, if you’re into mattes or shimmers, you’ll probably love these.
BORN TO RUN TRAVEL SIZE ALL NIGHTER ($15)
Another fan favorite, and staple in my makeup bag! The All Nighter setting spray has been a go-to for years. It feels light and refreshing, and helps keep makeup in place. This long lasting spray is designed for use on all skin types, and is free of oil and parabens. It’s also got a patented temperature controlled formula, which actually lowers the temp of your makeup so that it lasts – even in humid weather!
This collection blew me away so much more than I thought it would. The eyeshadow palette is my absolute recommendation. It’s got buttery smooth shades with intense pigmentation. You can create day looks, bright looks, smokey…you get the idea 😉 The setting spray is a tried and true fav packed into a travel bottle, and the 24/7 liners are always great. The lipstick I would personally skip, but that’s because I prefer glossier more hydrating formulas. Overall, Born to Run is fabulous!
