It’s been nearly a year since my last empties, what?! 😮 Admittedly, I’ve been off my blogger game this year. Between a huge move, transition out of military life, and a late miscarriage (etc, etc) I haven’t had much down time. But, despite the madness I have managed to use up a ton of beauty products.
I asked on Instagram if you guys were still into empties posts, and a huge majority said yes. So, here we are. I’ll be talking about the majority of empties here, then I’ll head over to Insta Stories and talk about the rest. You can follow me here if you’re not already! Let’s dive in!
// ERNO LASZLO MULTI-PHASE MAKEUP REMOVER (6.8 oz – $55)
I’ve been talking about this brand a lot lately, so this empty should come as no surprise. This bi-phase makeup remover was the very first thing I discovered from the brand, and it’s been my go-to for years. It’s gentle, effectively removes stubborn makeup (including lash glue!), and it never stings my eyes. It’s quite pricey, but one bottle lasts a few months – and it’s so good that I don’t mind paying the over $50 price tag.
Repurchase? YES! Even though the price tag hurts.
// PAULA’S CHOICE PERFECT CLEANSING GEL (4 OZ – $25)
I love this! I’ve used up a few of these, and would definitely repurchase in the future. It has a thin texture that melts away makeup, but doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue. You’ll have to double cleanse, as it can leave some stray foundation, but overall it’s really nice.
Repurchase? If I didn’t already have three other cleansing oils I would!
// ERNO LASZLO PHELITYL NIGHT CREAM (SAMPLE SIZE)
More Erno Laszlo! I’m telling you this brand is so good! I instantly fell in love with this night cream. The texture is thick and emollient, just what my dry skin needs. If you’re on the oily side, I’d steer clear of this, but if you’re dry, have rosacea or eczema, then I would definitely give this a try! These are two baby sizes, but I’m currently working my way through a larger size (and will be so sad when it’s gone).
// ORIGINS CHECKS & BALANCES FROTHY FACE WASH (5 OZ – $23.50)
I mentioned this product in my year end empties back in January, and I’m still using it (just repurchased another in the Sephora sale). It’s the best for daily cleansing, without stripping skin. It pairs great with a Clarisonic, and one bottle lasts quite a while. Though, you’ll see I cut the top off this one since it can be hard to get out every last drop with the squeeze tube.
Repurchase? Already have!
// SUGAR ADVANCED LIP THERAPY ($26 – 0.15 OZ)
My all time fav lip treatment! I’ve gone through so many of these I’ve lost count. It’s been in my rotation since I was in college ten years ago (the OG in the brown tube at least), and I can’t see myself replacing it any time soon. It’s hydrating, nourishing, and it doesn’t have unnecessary fragrance. They have a rose tinted one that’s amazing too!
// BED HEAD BEACH FREAK MOISTURIZING DETANGLING SPRAY ($19 – 3.4 OZ)
Bed Head products are always a favorite of mine because they smell amazing. I’ve been using their Head Rush shine spray for well over ten years, and my husband still compliments me every single time I use it. But, this product fell a little flat for me. It smells nice, but I don’t think it did much in terms of adding moisture or prepping hair for styling. I wound up using it up on my daughters hair.
// OUAI WAVE SPRAY MINI ($12 – 1.7 OZ)
This was another mehh product for me. It smells SO pretty, but it did not create a speck of wave in my hair. I wound up using it more as a hair perfume than anything else, so unless you already have waves in your hair, I’d pass on this.
// BELIF THE TRUE CREAM – MOISTURIZING BOMB ($38 – 1.68 OZ)
Don’t mind the dust on the top, I finished this months ago and it sat in my empties bin 😛 Belif is another brand I’ve fallen quickly for. Their products are gentle, but really effective. Although this formula is lighter (like a gel) than others I typcally reach for, it still hydrates my dry skin really well. It’s free of fragrance, and can be used both morning and night.
Repurchase? Definitely would!
// CAUDALIE VINOSOURCE MOISTURIZING SORBET ($39 – 1.3 OZ)
If you’re into whipped face creams, this is really nice. It sinks into skin quickly, and feels hydrating without being heavy. But, the packaging is tinnyyy. For nearly $40, and with how much you have to use, this is not a good value. The larger tube only lasted about 6 weeks before it was empty. The formula is great, the size is not!
Repurchase? If they come out with a larger size (that’s not double the price), then yes!
// VERSACE BRIGHT CRYSTAL ABSOLU ($112 – 3 OZ)
Versace makes such beautiful scents! In college I swore by the OG Bright Crystal (light pink bottle), and now I’m obsessed with Absolu. This sexier big sister version smells unlike anything else I’ve owned. It’s light and fresh, without being fruity or headache inducing, and it lasts quite a while. You’ll have to get used to strangers saying you smell good though. Without fail every time I wear it, someone stops me to say I smell great. It’s amazing!
// ELEMIS WHITE FLOWERS EYE & LIP MAKEUP REMOVER ($34 – 4.2 OZ)
A more affordable makeup remover is the Elemis White Flowers remover. This product really surprised me. I’m quite picky when it comes to removers, and this hit all my check points. It’s gentle, effective, doesn’t sting, and doesn’t leave behind a greasy film. It removed dark smokey eyes, and all my mascara. I like it!
I’m a huge fan of minis! It’s a great way to try new products, without spending a ton of money. I’ve purchased so many full sizes after trying samples and minis!
// BELIF HUNGARIAN WATER ESSENCE & MOISTURIZING EYE BALM
I instantly fell in love with both of these Belif products, and have since purchased a full size of the Water Essence. The eye bomb is a gel with a silky texture, and it adds a ton of hydration. The Water Essence is light, but packs a serious moisture punch. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from this brand so far!
Repurchase? Yes to both!
// JOSIE MARAN ARGAN OIL
So many people rave about this, and since I have dry skin I thought it would be a huge hit. Sadly, this does not work for me. It’s heavy, and it makes my face break out. I do like the light version though.
Repurchase? Not for me.
// ERNO LASZLO PHORMULA 3-9 EYE CREAM
Are you sick of this brand yet?! I hope not! Another all star product is this eye cream. It came in a set of their best sellers, and I am obsessed. It’s gentle, thick, easy to apply, and so so hydrating! The only problem, it’s over $175 for a full size! 😮 I’m not sure I can convince the hubby that I need hundreds of dollars worth of skincare, but this is so good I might try 😉
Repurchase? Yes, yes, yes!
